Asthma & Smoking

It is troubling that up to 25-35% of people with asthma are regular cigarette smokers. Physicians are all too aware that the more than 2000 toxic chemicals in each puff increase inflammation in the airways and provoke asthma attacks. Now a study from the University of San Fransisco has found that cigarette smoke actually makes asthma medications less effective. This means that when the airways constrict in an asthma attack, your medication is less likely to work properly.

The conclusions are clear. Donít smoke and donít let others smoke around you.
